School Has Started Once Again

What a wonderful time of year. It truly reminds me of how fast my kids are growing up. Sara has started the 6th grade. And how she has grown. Just over the summer she has blossomed into a wonderful pre-teen. It is so hard for me to believe, it seems as though we where visiting grandma and grandpa Doug and going to the zoo and Funderland. Know all she wants to do is talk on the phone and hang out with her friends. She will be entering Young Women's in just a few weeks. Boy how I remember those days. As of right now I don't think that she is boy crazy but I am sure that can change quickly. She is a great member of our family and so loving and caring. What a blessing to have here with us.
Mak is starting the 2nd grade. She is so excited to have Miss Edwards again. She was her teacher last year. Mak has learned a lot this summer. One of the things she liked the most and wants to continue is cooking. We had a few mini cooking classes and she really picked up on that. She has done some growing too this summer. She kept up on her school work like reading, writing and math so that she would be ready for this great year. she loved watching Little House On The Prairie also this summer and has decided that for Halloween she will be Laura Ingles. Boy do we have someone who will be prepared. We love having this little ray of sunshine in our family. She is a lot of fun to be with. We are looking froward to all of the new things that she will be learning and watching her grow.

As for me this summer flew by. I have dreaded summer since my girls started school. What would we do? How hot was it going to be? When does school start? It just seemed to take a very long time to get back to where they loved being. Well not this summer. I was so quick I feel as though there was still a lot more to to with them. We had mini cooking lessons. The girls has summer school for a month to work on their reading. Then I was gone for a week and then it was time to start the next school year again. I am working at the school again this year. I have seem to become the school gopher. I do the lunch tables, I worked in the office the first 2 days of school helping answer questions. ( I am not to sure if I was a help of a hindrance, but I was there) I also am an aide 2 days a week just at the end of school to help in the Kindergarten class. I am never sure when the school calls if it is that my kids are sick or if I have another job. It is kind of nice to know that I can help in many areas. I am grateful for my husband and for him putting up with me and all that I do. Sara is not so sure she likes me at the school, but Mak loves it. Who knows that might change too. I love my family and all the joy they bring into my life. I hope and pray that I can be the best mom for them and I look forward to being with them forever.

What a Life. What a family.

Not only did this summer fly by, but you will find that your children's childhood will fly by as well. You ARE the best mom they can have and you are getting better as you have more experience. That's what makes a grandma, being a highly experienced mom.

That last picture of the girls standing together is a stark contrast of their size. I see that Sara is definitely grown into a woman, but the height difference is shocking.

You have two wonderful sunbeams in those girls and you are their sun. You're doing great--just remember to have fun because childhood won't last long.
Love Dad
