I can't believe it is May already. Not a lot has gone on here in the vast expanse of Utah. However I would like to share a few feelings that I have been having. These will be all over the map but when am I not.
1. School is almost over for the year. How time files when you spend the day at school with you kids. It is so neat to watch these kids learn. It is fun to see them learn about social skills and how things work in the world and with themselves. Sara has been having a hard time with learning how to be friends with a large group of girls. It is so hard to grow up. She is trying to be kind to all of them and it is so taxing on her fragile emotions. I feel for her. I love her and know that it will all work out. Mak is having a great time learning about life and how it works. She is learning a lot and loving all that she learns. One of her favorite things this year has been learning about how seeds grow. A girl after my own heart. Maybe she will be the next Gardener in our family.
2. Family is a joy. This one is one I have to remind myself of often. I have been trying to keep up on the house by myself for many years and I am finally burnt out. I NEED HELP!!!! I now understand why we had chores when I was growing up. Kids are a great resource especially when a lot of the stuff that needs to be picked up is theirs.
3. Parents are the best. I love my parents. I know that I have said this before, but I do. I have learned so much from them. Each one has taught me different things. Cooking, cleaning, braiding, health....I could go on and on. Thank you for all the lessons. Thank you for the example of service.
4. To be prepared. This is something that I have learned also from my parents. It is a true principle. "When ye are prepared ye shall not fear." I love this. We have been working on our food storage and getting it where the Lord has asked us. It feels great to follow the teachings of the gospel.
These are just a few of my thoughts. I could go on about the state of the economy and government, but I have my other Saturday chores to do, maybe next time.
