Off to the MTC

This was a bitter sweet day. Monday the 9th of June was the day that we took Elder Doug and Sister Cindy to the MTC. We all got up early, Sara went off to summer school and then the rest of us helped my parents pack. We ran a few errands (does this seem like a trend?). We came back to the house where my mom had a very burnt hot dog. One thing that she really wanted. We picked up Sara and then it was off to the MTC. We helped them unload their lives into a room much smaller than I have seen before. However we decided that it was a good thing that they loved one another. Because if they didn't they would buy the end of their 2 weeks. We then took them in to check in. They started the process and then came to say the real good bye. We took their pictures with the name tags. It is really cool. Sara had the hardest time saying good bye and letting go. She started to cry and then so did I. However it was a mix of happy and sad tears. I know that we will be blessed for their sacrifice and I look forward to receiving these blessings.

Your parents will be fantastic missionaries with their always friendly attitudes. They'll probably convert thousands! Even if they don't, I'm sure their skills will be put to good use. Return with honor Elder and Sister Simmons :)
